I never thought that a white feathered bird would elicit feelings of green envy from me. Mark made the comment after we found out I was pregnant "wouldn't it be easier if you could just lay an egg."
After a nauseating evening yesterday and clothes shopping today, I think he may have been right.
First off, all the maternity clothes I've seen are not very cute and selection is extremely limited. I love clothes shopping and new outfits...so I find this challenging. I find enough tops that look cute enough...it is the pants/skirts area I'm having trouble.
They have plenty of jeans and some khaki type stuff (lots of capris which does me no good in the winter) but nicer pants and skirts...no such luck.
I also have a conference in two weeks. I'm not really quite round enough for maternity clothes but my normal dress clothes just aren't going to zip.
I bought some bigger pants today that should get me by.
I just found the experience to be frustrating and I have a feeling it will only worsen.
Wouldn't it be nice just to lay an egg?

Laura, something I found VERY helpful is the Bella Band (they are hard to find in stores but google them and you can easily order them online). It's just a band about 6-7 inches wide and very stretchy that you wear over your unbuttoned pre-pregnancy pants or skirts and looks like a layered tee. They cost between $25-30 and are an absolute essential in my opinion. I have a black one and a white one and I wore them almost all the way through my pregnancy. They also provide good support when your belly gets really heavy. Might be worth a try! Hope that helps you, I remember a similar problem. Also be careful how much you buy for maternity clothes because you aren't necessarily guaranteed to be able to wear them for subsequent pregnancies due to seasonal differences. :P I made that mistake. Good luck
Those larger than your normal size but not maternity pants will come in handy when you're done with the pregnancy and your size is going back down too - the same problem happens in reverse!
hi that was such a mark question to ask about laying eggs and i cant wat to meat baby linenburg by thu wae is my gramer improvin lydia
ahh...the battle of the clothes!!! I am rigth there with you on this one. Literally!! I just bought a size 8 pants to work my way into those maternity pants that are just to big right now. I found a couple shirts from Old Navy that aren't dressy, but work for my everyday life. (cotton Long sleeved shirts). As for church clothes....I tried on 6 skirts last sunday and finally found one that fit!! What am I going to do this sunday?? I have no idea. I do have larger skirts in the closet from last pregnancy when I was trying to loose baby weight...but they are sizes 13's and those are just to big still.....oh the joys. Sometimes I just want to put on my stretchy black pants that Ive had literally for 7 years and wear them everywhere I go, even church....but I won't. Good luck. Oh and those band things...Ive heard they are great, never had one and not sure I can drop 25-30$ on a piece of materially...might see if my grams can make me one:)
Fan of the Bella bands...see if you can borrow one, the mama that invented them used a tube top for a while so you could just find a cheap on of those. =o) I've got a "non-little" black dress that I'm currently wearing every sunday for services and I'm pretty sure that will continue for the next 12 weeks or so until baby comes. =o) No one cares if you have a staple you wear over and over...buying even just a few new things seems like a splurge because we only wear this stuff for like four months.
I'm thinking your man is right...laying an egg would sure be more simple. =o) I'm glad your little girl is growing and that the ultra-sound went well.
